Presentation A Child in A Cradle @WEEF2026!

Weefnetwerk invites inkle weaving specialist Marieke Kranenburg and me to give a presentation about A Child in A Cradle. The presentation will take place on Saturday, September 12th, in Den Bosch. Tickets are now available via the Weefnetwerk website.  I am looking forward to sharing the story behind the basket and the poem: from the very first sketches and visits to the basketmaker’s workshop in Drenthe, to the discovery of a remarkable little book, and the meeting with Marieke Kranenburg, when I asked her: “Could you weave a poem?” That question became an opportunity to push the boundaries of inkle weaving. Marieke Kranenburg will explain how each of the poem’s 24 lines was woven using a different technique and carefully chosen materials. She designed the patterns and assembled a team of skilled weavers. With their help all 24 lines were completed! Hopefully, the presentation will inspire other weavers and artists to stay curious and seek new opportunities for collaboration. Practical information
